Blind Pass Project Update

The following tasks were completed during the weeks of Nov. 30th thru Dec. 13th:

- Dredging operations commenced on Wednesday, December 3rd for beach placement.
- The Contractor dredged an estimated 3,532 cubic yards between December 3rd and December 13th. Work efficiency for the same time period is estimated at 60% for Dredge "Nate". Dredge "Michael" did not conduct any operations during this
time period.
- Lee County notified the Contractor of potential water quality monitoring violations on Saturday, December 13th. Written clarification on the discrepancies form the Contractor is anticipated by Saturday, December 20th.
- The Contractor submitted a revised schedule on December 5th with an anticipated completion date of May 20, 2009.
- The Contractor submitted a revised QA/QC plan on December 1, 2008.

The following tasks are anticipated during the week of Dec. 14th thru Dec. 20th:

- Placement of material in the nearshore is anticipated to begin as early as Tuesday, December 16th with Dredge "Michael".
- Submittal of the Pre-Construction survey is anticipated by Saturday, December 20th. The surveys will be used to calculate the volume of material removed from the pass after project completion.

Outstanding and other Items to Note:

- The DEP, Ding Darling NWR, and Lee County will holding public meetings to discuss the proposed 474 acre Pole and Troll zone in Wulfert Flats at the following dates and locations: (Each meeting is expected to begin at 6:00 pm)
Monday, January 12th - Pine Island (Meeting Facility TBD)
Tuesday, January 13th - Sanibel Island @ Ding Darling NWR
Wednesday, January 14th - Ft. Myers @ Lee County Government Facility.
*The Specific meeting room locations will be provided.
- The Contractor is anticipated to begin working night time hours by January 1, 2009 to dredge material suitable for beach placement.
- The Contractor is anticipated to install a booster pump by January 1. The pump is anticipated to work 24 hrs. Per day.
